JAMMU, Sept 28: A youth was killed today while 12 others were injured when a mini-bus rolled down the road in Sainik Colony area of city outskirts.
According to a police spokesman, the mishap occurred today afternoon when a rashly driven mini-bus (bearing registration number JK02AJ-4620) carrying mostly the students of New Modern College, Sainik Colony, was on its way from Chowadi to Jammu.
In the mishap, 13 persons were injured and all of them were shifted to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu, where one of the injured namely Shub Ashish (25) son of Sher Chand, resident of Paddar, succumbed to his injuries during treatment.
The other injured are Chatar Rekha (22) daughter of Dev Raj, Suresha Devi (20) daughter of Munshi Ram, Anu (19) daughter of Bhagat Ram, Ravinder (18) son of Sardar Singh, Jugal (20) son of Sewa Ram, Pardeep Kumar (20) son of Kishori Lal, all residents of Paddar and Sushma (20) daughter of Satpal resident of Pouni, Heena Chib (20) daughter of Surjeet Singh, resident of Satwari, Sadam Hussain (21) son of Mohd Hussain, resident of Ramban, Kamal Singh (19) son of Swarn Singh, resident of Doda, Nasir Ahmed (21) son of Mohd Sharief, resident of Ramban, Mehmood (21) son of Manjoor Hussain, resident of Mendhar (Poonch).
The dead body of the deceased youth was shifted to mortuary room of the hospital for post mortem. The concerned police has registered a case in this connection and seized the ill-fated mini-bus while the driver and conductor of the vehicle managed to escape from the spot of crime.
