JAMMU, Apr 30: One person was killed while two others were injured today in separate road mishaps in city outskirts.
According to a police official, a speeding truck hit a bike this morning at Machine Domana on Jammu-Akhnoor Road and injured its rider and pillion. The injured persons identified as Sham Lal (54) son of Nanak Chand, resident of Paloura and his wife, Shoba Rani (45) were shifted to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), Jammu, where Shoba Rani succumbed to her injuries at about 11 AM.
After postmortem, the body was handed over to its legal heirs for last rites while a case FIR NO 173/2019 in this connection was registered at police station Domana and further investigations started. The efforts were also on to nab the driver of the truck who fled from the spot along with his vehicle.
Meanwhile, a car hit a bike at Greater Kailash and injured its rider, Rajat Kumar (25) son of Balak Ram, resident of RS Pura. The injured youth was shifted to GMCH Jammu for treatment while the concerned police had taken cognizance of the matter.
