RAMBAN, Nov 20: In two different road accidents here today, a young biker was killed and two others were injured in Banihal and Ramsu areas.
Police said that a biker was killed after his bike rammed into an Oil Tanker coming from the opposite direction on the old alignment of Jammu-Srinagar National Highway.
Police sources said that the Tanker bearing registration number JK02CH-9527 hit a bike bearing registration number PB08DJ-3103 coming from the opposite direction at Char Chinar area of Chareel, Banihal on Highway, leaving the biker critically injured.
He was rushed to Sub District Hospital Banihal where after providing medical aid doctors referred him to some Srinagar based Hospital but he succumbed.
Police identified the deceased as Shoaib Ahmad Tantray, 20, son of Mohammad Ashraf Tantray, resident of Krawa Banihal.
Police has detained the tanker driver and registered a case under relevant Sections of law at Police Station Banihal.
Meanwhile, last night a truck bearing registration number JK03F- 5444 while on its way to Jammu hit a vegetable laden vehicle of Tata 407 make bearing registration number JK02CX-3351 coming from the opposite side and pushed the vegetable laden vehicle into Bisleri Nullah.
On getting information Army (23RR), stationed in the area rushed to the spot and shifted the two injured to Army Medical Aid, (MI), room Nachlana where after providing medical aid both the injured were shifted to Sub District Hospital Banihal.
Police have identified the injured as Javaid Ahmad Dar, son of Farooq Ahmad, resident of Khanabal, Anantnag and Salman Khan, son of Rafiq Ahmad, resident of Jandiyal.
Police has registered a case in FIR number 127 of 2024 under Section 281, 125(A) BNS at Police Station Ramsu and started investigation.
