One killed, 3 hurt in road accidents

JAMMU, Jan 1: One person was killed while three others got injured in two separate road accidents occurred on city outskirts.
Police sources said that a load carrier bearing registration number JK02CH-5991 rolled down the road in Domana area, late last night. In the mishap, driver of the vehicle and one another person accompanying him sustained serious injuries.
Both the injured persons were rushed to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), Jammu, where the auto driver namely Amar Kumar (28) son of Vejnath Gupta, resident of Bihar (at present Resham Ghar Colony, Jammu), was declared as brought dead by the doctors while other injured person namely Azad (34) son of Abdul Razak, resident of Bihar (at present Narwal, Jammu) was undergoing treatment.
Domana Police had registered a case in this connection and started investigation while body of the deceased was handed over to his legal heirs today after completion of all medico legal formalities.
Meanwhile, a speeding car hit a scooty at RS Pura and injured its rider and pillion. The injured scooty rider identified as Vipan Kumar (34) son of Sewa Ram and pillion rider Jitto Devi (60) wife of Sewa, both residents of RS Pura, were shifted to GMCH Jammu for medical treatment. RS Pura Police had taken cognizance of the matter.
