UDHAMPUR, Jan 29: One person died and three others sustained critical injuries when a rashly driven truck rammed into a Bar & Restaurant near Chopra Shop, here late last night.
According to the reports, a speeding truck, bearing registration number JK02AC-8067, rammed into ‘Good Morning Bar and Restaurant’ at Chack Morh Old National Highway, resulting into critical injuries to four employees of the Bar & Restaurant.
Locals and police rushed to the spot and shifted the injured persons to District Hospital Udhampur where doctors referred them to GMC Hospital Jammu in view of their serious condition.
One of the victims, identified as Youdhvir Singh (35), son of Gian Singh of Ramnagar, succumbed to his injuries on way to GMC Hospital Jammu while the other three are reportedly responding to the treatment. They have been identified as Balbir Singh (30), son of Gian Singh of Ramnagar, Surjit Singh (33), son of Sansar Singh of Rehambal and Ajay Kumar (42) son of Nanak Chand of Garnai Rehambal.
The truck driver managed to escape by taking advantage of the darkness while Rehambal Police has registered the case and started further investigation.
