One killed, 3 injured in shootout in Jammu

JAMMU: One person was killed and three others were injured in a shootout broke out on Tuesday over an old rivalry in Narwal area here on city outskirts.
One Ranjeet Singh was allegedly attacked with sharp-edged weapons by a group of old rivals this morning in Yard Number 2 at Narwal, police here said.
They said that sensing trouble, Ranjeet Singh fired few rounds from his licensed pistol.
One of the attackers, identified as Rajveer Singh,41, sustained a bullet injury and he died, police added.
Son of Ranjeet Singh was also injured when one of the bullets also hit him, they said, adding that two more people were injured.
“Injured have been rushed to the hospital,” police said and added that a case has been registered and investigation started.
