JAMMU, Aug 4: An old man was killed while three others were injured this evening when a mini bus turned turtle in Akhnoor area of city outskirts.
“A mini-bus bearing registration number JK02X-6629 on way from Kapain De Bain to Akhnoor turned turtle on the road near Tanda and hit a pedestrian identified as Rattan Lal, 76, son of Kirpa Ram, resident of Tanda”, a police spokesman said, adding three passengers of the mini-bus also received injuries.
He said that the injured persons were shifted to the Sub-District Hospital in Akhnoor, where Rattan Lal was declared as brought dead by doctors whereas one of the seriously injured persons was referred to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu for treatment and two others were discharged after providing first-aid.
The injured passenger who was shifted to GMC&H has been identified as Archana Sharma daughter of Sandeep Sharma, resident of Tanda.
A case in this connection was registered at police station Akhnoor and further investigations were underway.
