KATHUA, Oct 16: One person was killed and several others were injured when a matador which, was on its way from Palasi to Mahanpur in Basohli turned turtle at Bhweni today.
The deceased has been identified as Puran Chand Sharma, 70, son of Saloo Ram resident of village Thana. The injured were identified as Ramesh Kumar S/O Mohinder Singh of Dhani, Shamo Devi wife of Keshaw Ram and Simi Devi, wife of Teg Chand. They have been admitted in SDH Basohli for treatment.
Police said the matador bearing number JK08A, 9092 was in high speed resulting into on spot death of Puran Chand. The driver and conductor of the matador managed to flee from the spot. The Basohli Police has registered a case under Section 279/337/304 and started investigation.
