JAMMU, Nov 2: One person was killed after he was hit by a truck at Lakhanpur this morning while four persons were injured when a car fell into a gorge near Kehri village in Udhampur today
A police spokesman said that one Vijay Kumar, son of Raj Kumar Gupta of Ward No. 15 Kathua was returning on his bike from Lakhanpur. On the narrow bypass road near ARTO office, he was hit by truck No. JK-13/ 8337 and died on the spot. He was returning from the work at that time.
The police seized the truck and arrested its driver namely- Asadullah, son of Mohd Munawar, resident of Anantnag.
A report from Udhampur said that four persons were injured, when an Alto car skidded off the road and fell into a gorge in Kehri area of the district today. The car, bearing registration number JK14C-1714, was on its way to Udhampur from Kud, which skidded off the road and rolled into the gorge, resulting into the injuries to four persons.
Locals and police rushed to the spot, started rescue operation and shifted the injured persons to district hospital, from where one of them was referred to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), Jammu for specialized treatment.
The injured persons were identified as Deepu, son of Suresh Sharma of Subash Nagar, Udhampur, Rakesh Kumar, son of Jagdish Kumar of Charat, Chenani, Samran, son of Mohd Saleem of Reasi and Mudasar, son of Gulam Mohd of Shiv Nagar, Udhampur.
