One killed, 4 injured in road accidents

JAMMU, Feb 11: A helper engaged with tractor-trolley died and four others got injured in road accidents in district Udhampur and tehsil Katra in district Reasi.
As per police sources, a helper engaged with tractor trolley identified as Kaka Ram (25), son of Kapoor Chand, a resident of Tarpad, district Udhampur, was replacing tyre by applying jack. The jack slipped and the vehicle fell down over the helper, resulting into his on the spot death.
The body has been shifted to District Hospital (DH) Udhampur, where after conducting autopsy tomorrow, the body will be handed over to family members for last rites.
Meanwhile, two persons identified as Pardeep Singh, son of Jeevan Singh and Pankaj Kumar, son of Shanker Dass, both residents of Chenani received injuries when the motorcycle they were riding on slipped near Dhar Road.
On getting information, police rushed to the spot and shifted the injured to District Hospital Udhampur, where their condition was stated to be stable, when reports last came in.
In another incident, two persons got injured, when the scooter they were riding on collided with road side boulders near Nomian area, falling under the jurisdiction of Katra police station.
The injured identified as Rashpal, son of Madan Lal and Subash, son of Fakir Chand, both residents of Nomian, tehsil Katra were rushed to Sub-District Hospital (SDH) Katra, from where they were later referred to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) for advanced treatment.
Cases under relevant Sections have been registered at concerned police station and investigation started.
