RAJOURI, Dec 18: One person was killed while six others injured when a Tata Mobile vehicle rolled down into a gorge in Rajouri area this evening.
A police spokesman said that the mishap took place when the ill- fated vehicle No. JK-11/3729 was carrying some workers engaged with a private company laying cables in Khablan and Kheri area of Thannamandi. It was at around 5.45 pm when the driver while coming down to Khablan from Kheri area lost control over the vehicle on small link road and it rolled down into a gorge.
While one worker, Maqbool Hussain (30), son of Abdullah, resident of Handwara in Kashmir, was killed on the spot, six others were injured. They all were removed to Rajouri hospital. The injured were identified as Ghulam Hassain, son of Mohd Hussain; Abdul Rashid, son of Abdul Ahad; Jahangir, son of Sayed Noor Shah; Gulzar Ahmed -all from Kupwara; Rizwan Hussain, son of Lal Hussain and Showkat Shah, son of Hafiz Shah from Khablan in Rajouri. The police has taken cognizance of the matter.
