Srinagar, Sept 26: Police today said one person was killed while six others were injured in different road accidents across the Valley.
A police spokesman said one platform vehicle bearing registration number JK02R/2037 skidded off from the road at Wani Mohalla in Machil area of Kupwara district, resulting in on spot death of one person namely Salman Sarkali and injuries to one Ghulam Qadir Khan. After completion of medico legal formalities, the body of the deceased was handed over to his relatives for last rites, he said, adding that the injured was shifted to District Hospital Kupwara for treatment. Police has registered a case in this regard.
The spokesman said that a Rextant car bearing registration number JK04C/121 hit a pedestrian namely Majid Amin Ganai at Garoora in Aragam area of Bandipora district. “The injured was shifted to District Hospital Bandipora where from he was shifted to JVC Hospital Srinagar for further treatment. Police have registered a case in this regard,” he said.
The spokesman said that an Alto car bearing registration number JK22A/3175 driven by Showkat Ahmad Rather and a Tavera bearing registration number JK03D/4490 collided at Pindobal Nagrard in Kokernag area of Anantnag district, resulting in injuries to Alto driver and three other persons namely Kounser Jan, Bashir Ahmad, residents of Sadipora and Shahida. “All the injured were shifted to Sub District Hospital Kokernag for treatment. Police have registered a case in this regard,” he added.
