One killed, 9 injured in road mishaps

Srinagar, Mar 2: Police today said a person was killed while nine others were injured in different road accidents in Valley.
A police spokesman said a scooty bearing registration number JK01AC-4816 driven by Abdul Rashid Bhat collided with a bus bearing registration number JK01B-4816 driven by Nazir Ahmad Dar at Tengpora near Bridge here in summer capital, resulting in injuries to the scooty rider.
“The injured was shifted to Bone & Joints Hospital for treatment, where doctors declared him brought dead. After completion of medico legal formalities, the body of the deceased was handed over to his legal heirs for last rites,” the spokesman said.
He said that an Alto car bearing registration number JK09A-3995 driven by Farooq Ahmad Lone and a Tavera vehicle bearing registration number JK01M-9803 driven by Showkat Ahmad Lone collided at Goguloosa village of Trehgam area of Kupwara district, resulting in injuries to four commuters.
“All the injured persons were shifted to Sub District Hospital Kupwara for treatment, wherefrom two of the injured were shifted to SMHS Hospital, Srinagar for further treatment. Police have registered a case in this regard,” he said.
The police spokesman said a Santro vehicle bearing registration number JK01M-0566 collided with a Van bearing registration number JK04D-5498 at Gulab Bagh in Kulgam district, resulting in injuries to five commuters. All the injured persons were shifted to Qazigund Hospital for treatment, he said, adding that police have registered a case in this regard.
