UDHAMPUR, May 22: One person died and other was injured when a JCB rolled down near village Manja in Ramnagar while in two separate incidents of suicide, a middle aged man hanged self at his house in village Jaganoo and a youth ended his life by consuming some poisonous substance at Bharat Nagar Udhampur.
Reports said that a JCB (JK02CF-5204) rolled down in a deep gorge when its driver lost control while operating during PMGSY road work near village Manja in Ramnagar Tehsil . Some locals rushed to the spot and shifted the injured driver and his assistant to Sub District Hospital Ramnagar where doctors declared one of them as brought dead.
The deceased was identified as Ashok Kumar (19), son of Suram Chand of Dagar Ramnagar. The injured, identified as Madan Lal son of Jallu Ram of Ramnagar was stated to be out of danger.
Meanwhile, one Ajeet Kumar (55), son of Paras Ram of Scora Kujwani Jammu, working at Jaganoo in a private job, was found hanging from ceiling fan hook at his rented accommodation under mysterious circumstances.
On being informed by some locals, Police shifted the dead body to District Hospital Udhampur for postmortem and other legal formalities. Cause of provocation behind the extreme step could not be ascertained while Police has registered the case for further investigation .
In another incident of suicide, one Sunil Gupta (28), son of Subash Gupta of Bihar , presently putting up at Bharat Nagar Udhampur, consumed some poisonous substance at his residence last night. The family members noticed him in serious condition and rushed him to District Hospital Udhampur where doctors referred him to GMC Jammu Hospital. He died during treatment at GMC Hospital Jammu.
Later, the dead body was sent for postmortem. The police after completion of all the formalities and postmortem, handed over the body to family members for the last rites.
