JAMMU, Sept 10: One person was killed and another received injuries after an unknown truck hit their two-wheeler in Malik Market area falling under the jurisdiction of police post Bathindi.
According to a police official, an unknown speeding truck hit a bike bearing registration number JK21B-0034 around 8:45 tonight on National Highway opposite Wave Mall, resulting into on the spot death of the pillion and injuries to bike rider.
He said that the deceased was identified as Vishal Bhatti (30) son of Balwinder Singh, resident of Nai Basti while the injured was identified as Manmohan Sharma (34) son of Rattan Lal, resident of Sarore. They were on their way to home from Narwal to Nai Basti when the accident occured, he added.
“The body of the deceased and the injured person were shifted to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu for postmortem and medical treatment respectively while a case under relevant sections was registered in this connection at concerned police station and further investigation initiated,” the official added.
