BHADERWAH, Nov 11: In a tragic road accident a 29-year-old biker got killed while the pillion rider was injured after an Army truck allegedly hit their two-wheeler from rear side on Batote-Kishtwar Highway near Thathri today morning.
Police said the bikers were labourers and were going to Bhaderwah for work when they were hit by the Army truck at Haneja Morh, 4 km from Thathri Market.
The pillion rider was identified as Mohd Sharief, 27 and he received minor injuries.
The deceased biker was identified as Mohd Aslam Deedar, 29, son Din Ali, resident of village Daraie.
After accident the injured were shifted to GMC Doda in Army truck where Aslam was declared dead on arrival.
Police has registered a case in this regard under Sections 279, 304-A and 337 of Indian Penal Code and started investigation.
After completing legal formalities, body of the deceased was handed over to his family members for last rites.
SSP Doda, Abdul Qayoom informed that the army vehicle involved in the accident has been seized and the driver booked.
