DODA, Apr 4: One person died and another critically injured here today when the car they were onboard fell into a deep gorge in Gandoh area near Darmoti in mountainous Doda district.

Sources informed that the mishap took place when the car of Alto make bearing registration number JK06C-4088 veered off the road and fell into a gorge near Darmoti area in Gandoh.
Immediately after the accident locals along with cops started rescue operation and retrieved the persons onboard the car and shifted them to Government Medical College (GMC) Doda where one of them was declared as brought dead.
The deceased was identified as Sonu Kumar, 30, son of Bishan Lal, a resident of Batara village and the injured was identified as Pooran Chand, 60, son of Chandu Ram, also from Batara.
The injured was undergoing treatment at GMC Doda till last reports. Police has registered a case in this regard at Police Station Gandoh under relevant sections of the law and started investigation.
