UDHAMPUR, July 6: A pillion rider was killed and the motorcyclist got injured when a rashly driven Tanker hit the bike at Kakrai on Mansar road, here today.
The deceased has been identified as Niku Ram (35), son of Hari Ram of Kakrai while the injured was identified as Traffic Constable Vijay Choudhary, posted at Battal. Majalta.
After the accident, the tanker driver fled from the spot along with vehicle while some locals shifted the victims to PHC Majalta where doctors declared pillion rider as brought dead.
Police has registered the case in this connection.
Meanwhile, an elderly man, who was missing from his house in Chenani since last evening, was found dead under mysterious circumstances, here today.
The deceased, identified as Dheeraj Singh (65), son of Lt Jaswant Singh of Chenani, had left his house yesterday and did not return. Today his dead body was found down hillock on Chenani Sudhmahdev Road.
The dead body was first shifted to CHC Chenani and then handed over to the family members after post-mortem.
A case in this regard has been registered at Police Station Chenani.
