SRINAGAR : One person was killed and another was injured in a blast today in Kupwara district going to the polls in the second phase on December 2.
Official sources said a blast took place at Lach Mawar, Handwara, in Kupwara, resulting in on-the-spot death of one Zahoor Ahmad Najar.
Another person was injured in the blast who has been rushed to hospital, they said.
Karnah, Kupwara, Langate, Handwara and Lolab in Kupwara district are going to polls on December 2. Today is the last date of withdrawal of nomination in all these constituencies in the district, where senior leaders of different political parties have been campaigning for the past few weeks.
