JAMMU, June 25: An 17 year-old youth was killed while his pillion rider was injured today when their bike collided with a roadside pole near University of Jammu, Jammu.
According to a police spokesman, the two youth identified as Akash son of Bittu and Shubam (17) son of Raja, both residents of Railway Colony, Jammu, were seriously injured when the bike bearing registration number JK02BF-0308 on which they were travelling rammed into a roadside near University of Jammu.
He said that both the injured youth were shifted to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu, where Akash succumbed to his injuries while the condition of the other youth was stated to be stable.
“After conducting post mortem the body of the deceased was handed over to his legal heirs for last rites”, the spokesman said, adding a case in this connection was registered at police station Gandhi Nagar and investigations were underway.
