DODA, Apr 8: One person was killed while another received injuries, when the Maruti Van they were traveling in skidded off the road and plunged to river Chenab near Pull-Doda.
The ill-fated vehicle bearing registration number JK06-4070 was on its way to Thathri from Pull-Doda, when the driver lost control over the vehicle and the vehicle plunged into river Chenab near Pull-Doda, resulting into on the spot death of one person and injuries to one another.
After getting information, army team lead by JCO rushed to the spot, rescued the injured person identified as Kashif Ali, son of Mubarak Ali, a resident of Drabshalla. Later, police also reached the spot.
The injured has been shifted him to District Hospital Doda, where he was undergoing treatment, when reports last came in.
The body of the deceased identified as Haq Nawaz, son of Abdul Rashid, a resident of Drabshalla was also shifted to DH Doda for completing legal formalities.
A case under relevant Sections has been registered at Doda police station and investigation started.
