One killed, another seriously injured in road accident

KATHUA, June 23: A motorcyclist was killed and a car driver was seriously injured when three vehicles rammed into each other at Sahar Morh on National Highway near here, today.
The accident took place when the driver of the truck bearing Registration No Jk02U 9862 suddenly applied break to save a person who came in front of his vehicle. A car bearing Number HR26 CM 7829 and Motorcycle moving behind the truck rammed into the truck, which resulted in both the vehicle were badly damaged and both the drivers were serious injured.
But the Motorcyclist identified as Ashwani Kumar resident of village Chack Darab Khan, Kathua succumbed to his injuries later. The car driver was seriously injured. He has been identified as Sant Ram, son of Roop Chand resident of Sonepat, Haryana. He has been admitted in GMC Kathua.
The eye witness told that the main cause of road accident was illegal parking of various fruit and juice Reharies on both sides of the road. The visitors also park their vehicles on Highway which results into congestion on the road causing regular accidents. Not even the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) and nor the District administration took cognizance of illegal parking of Reharies on busy highway.
The SSP Kathua, RC Kotwal also reached on the spot. Kathua police registered a case and started investigation into the matter.
