One killed, eight injured as mini-bus turns turtle

JAMMU, Mar 25: A woman passenger was killed while eight others were injured when a mini-bus carrying them turned turtle in Raipur area falling within the limits of police post Chinore.
According to a police spokesman, a mini-bus bearing registration number JK02BL-6307, which was on its way from Kheri to Jammu turned turtle this afternoon near Shiva Colony at Raipur. He said the mishap occurred while the driver of the vehicle was overtaking another vehicle.
“In the mishap, one Sunita Devi wife of Tarsem Singh, a resident of Kshatriya (RS Pura) was killed while eight others were injured”, he said, adding the injured were identified as Dwarka Dutt son of Garib Chand, Monika wife of Vikram Singh, Shashi son of Isher Dass, Samriti (19) daughter of Kuldeep, Deepika (29) wife of Ajay Singh and Neelam (50) wife of Jagdev Singh, all residents of Raipur, and Zafar Ali son of Soni Khan of Bantalab, Jyoti Sharma (30) wife of Subhash of Sujwal and her two daughters namely Deepika (6) and Vanshika (9).
The spokesman further said that the injured persons were shifted to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), Jammu for treatment while the body of the deceased was shiftd to mortuary room of the hospital.
In this connection, a case was registered at police station Domana and further investigations were underway.
