One killed, four injured in road mishaps

JAMMU, Mar 7: A man was killed while four persons were injured in separate road mishaps in city outskirts.
According to a police spokesman, today at about 6.15 PM, a Figo car number JK02BG-5632 driven by Ramesh Chand son of late Mohan Lal, resident of Jindraha, was on its way from Katra Domail towards Dansal when on reaching Chapper near Masjid the driver lost control over the vehicle and it hit one standing tipper number JK02BD-5256.
“In the mishap, the driver of the car received serious injuries while another unknown occupant of the car also sustained minor injuries”, the spokesman said, adding both the injured were shifted to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu, where Ramesh Chand succumbed to his injuries during treatment.
He said that the body of the deceased was shifted to mortuary room of the hospital for post mortem while a case FIR No 16/2017 U/S 279/337 RPC was registered in this connection and investigation started.
Another mishap occurred at Chattha, where a speeding bike hit a bicycle and injured its rider and pillion rider. The injured were identified as Imran Bhatti (30) son of Mahmood Bhatti, resident of Gujjar Nagar and Ram Lal (55). Both were hospitalized. The concerned police had taken cognizance of the matter.
An old man was injured when a scooty on which he was travelling, was hit by a speeding truck late last night at Batehra in Kanachak area. The injured man identified as Paramjeet Singh (63) son of Balwant Singh, resident of Rehari, was shifted to GMCh for treatment. Kanachak police had registered a case in this connection and started investigations.
