RAMBAN, Dec 29: A 19 years old Scooty rider died after his motorcycle was hit by a speedy vehicle coming from the opposite direction in the Lamber area of Banihal late Thursday evening.
Police sources said a motorcycle bearing registration number JK19A-2685 was hit by Mini load carrier (TaTa Mobile) bearing registration number JK13G-6410 coming from opposite direction near truck yard Lamber Toll Plaza,in Banihal on Srinagar Jammu highway resulting in the Scooty rider sustaining critical injuries he was rushed to Sub District Hospital Banihal where doctors declared him brought dead.
Police identified the deceased biker as Ahrar Ahmed, 19 son of Mohammad Yousaf Tantary resident of Ashar, Banihal.
SHO, Police Station Banihal Mohammad Afzal said the driver involved in the accident identified as Mosin Ahmed resident of Pulwama was arrested.
He said the vehicle involved in the accident was seized. A case FIR number 274 of 2022 under sections 279/337/304-A IPC was registered at Police Station Banihal.
