SRINAGAR : One person was killed in a cloudburst in Budgam district of central Kashmir, official sources said. The sources said the cloudburst struck Dekpora Dudpatheri last evening, resulting in on the spot death of one Mohammad Ashraf Chopan who had gone there along with his livestock.
Meanwhile, former Chief Minister Omar Abdullah in a tweet said, the frequency & intensity of these cloudbursts is highly unusual & very worrying.
Recently, four people were killed and a dozen others injured when cloudburst struck Amarnath yatra’s base camp Baltal in Ganderbal district. Dozens of tents, shops and vehicles were also damaged in the incident. (agencies)
