KISHTWAR, Aug 11: A Highway Supervisor of APS Construction Company working on NH244 in Kuriya Chatroo area here today died after coming under a landslide.
The deceased has been identified as Mukthiyar Ahmed, son of Maqbool Ahmed, resident of Khojgam Mugal Maidan, Chatroo and his body was retrieved from the debris of landslide by locals after hectic efforts.
The incident triggered protest by the locals on National Highway for several hours and after assurance of compensation and an FIR against the company, the protesters were pacified.
Police has registered a case in this regard at Police Station Kishtwar US 304-A and started investigation.
