JAMMU, Oct 8: A man was killed while six others were injured today in separate road mishaps in city and its outskirts.
“In a hit and run case, a pedestrian identified as Ashok Kumar (35) son of Ghishi Lal, resident of Bhopal, at present residing in Narwal area in the jurisdiction of police station Gangyal, was hit and killed on the spot by an unknown vehicle in Narwal area”, a police spokesman said, adding, the body of the deceased was shifted to mortuary room of Government Medical College and Hospital Jammu for post mortem while a case in this connection was registered at concerned police station and investigation started.
Another pedestrian was hit and injured by an unknown vehicle at Phalian Mandaal. The injured has been identified as Parkash (80) son of Batak, resident of Kallian (Akhnoor).
A woman namely Anu (25) wife of Tilak Raj, resident of Parade and her five-year old daughter namely Jami Bhagat got injured when while walking along the road here in Parade area, they were hit by a rashly driven scooty.
Two youths sustained injuries when the bike on which they were travelling, rammed into a horse-cart in Sangrampur area in city outskirts. The injured have been identified as Rakesh Singh (20) son of Babu Ram and Hardeep Singh (20) son of Sukhdev Singh, both residents of Sangrampur.
In Miran Sahib area, an unknown vehicle hit and injured a pedestrian identified as Surinder (20) son of Karishna, resident of Bihar, at present residing in Brij Nagar in the limits of police station Miran Sahib.
All the injured were shifted to GMC&H Jammu for treatment. In all cases, the concerned police had taken cognizance of the matter.
