DODA, June 4: One person was killed and two others received injuries when the car they were travelling in plunged into river Chenab near Prem Nagar area, falling under the jurisdiction of Thathri police station.
As per police sources, an car bearing registration number JK17-4987 plunged into river Chenab near Prem Nagar, resulting into on the spot death of one person and injuries to two others.
On getting information, police team rushed to the spot, rescued the injured person and shifted them to District Hospital, where they were responding to the treatment, when reports last came in.
The body of the deceased identified as Airf Hussain, son of Ghulam Rasool Butt, a resident of Hadyal, district Kishtwar has also been shifted to mortuary of District Hospital for autopsy, which will be conducted tomorrow.
The injured have been identified as Shafia Begum, wife of Arif.Hussain of Hadyal, district Kishtwar and her son Hayi Arif.
Thathri police has taken cognizance in this regard.
