MENDHAR, Apr 17: Villagers of Pujha Sarula, Upper Gursai have been reeling under darkness since last one month as the only transformer installed in the said village has gone kaput.
Due to non availability of electricity, the inhabitants of the village were facing hardships and the whole village has turned into darkness. “People of the area told Excelsior that since the lockdown came into effect, they repeatedly asked to local lineman for replacing it and even the matter brought into the notice of the officials of PDD through phone calls but to no avail,” they said.
Mohd Qasim, Mohammd iqbal, Haji mohammd Rashid, Abdul Ghani and others said that the lone transformer installed in our panchayat which cater the hundreds of house is out of order and nobody seems bothered about it. “On one hand, we are facing problems due to ongoing lockdown in term of essential commodities, our children are stranded in the neighbouring states due to COVID 19 lockdown while on other hand, there is no electricity for even charging the cell phones,” they narrated.
When connected to SDM Mendhar, Dr Sahil Jandayal, he said that he would direct to officials of Power Development Department and soon it will be replaced with new ones.
