One more held in petrol pump robbery case

RAJOURI, June 4: The police has nabbed one more youth for the robbery of Rs 1.61 lakh cash from a petrol pump located in Kandi area of Rajouri distrtict.
The accused has been identified as Mohd Ashraf, son of Mohd Hussain, resident of Kakora village in Manjakote area of district Rajouri. The police has already nabbed his two associates, namely Ajay Kumar, son of Kuldip Kumar Sharma, resident of Link Road Akhnoor and Mohd Farooq, son of Hussain Khan, resident of Kakora in Manjakote while they were fleeing after committing the broad day robbery on Sunday. All the three came in an Alto car to Shafi Petrol Pump in Kandi area of Kotranka and snatched Rs 1.61 lakh cash after entering into the pump room at weapon point.
The pump staff including Dhan Bahadur alerted police. When the accused were fleeing in the car, its tyre got punctured on the way. They left behind the car and took a lift in a Tempo Trax but two of them were nabbed at next police naka point while Ashraf managed to escape after jumping out from vehicle after seeing police.
Kotranka police was conducting series of raids at different places to nab the third accused. A police party led by SHO Kotranka, under the supervision of SP Rajouri, Mubassar Latiffi Haji Bashir raided a hotel at Poonch last night and arrested Ashraf. He was brought back to Kotranka police station. The police recovered Rs 1.35 lakh, looted cash from him. The police had recovered Rs 26,000 from the other two accused persons. The car bearing registration No. JK02AR/5812, used in the offence has also been seized by police besides two sharp edged weapons.
