KATHUA, Feb 5: A team of Anti Polythene Check Post Lakhanpur, headed by Munish Gupta, Range Forest Officer, Sanjeev Kumar, Deputy Inspector, Forest Protection Force (FPF) and Omkar Chand, FPF Guard detected Plastic and Polythene bags below 50 microns equivalent to 1029 Kgs from a truck bearing Registration Number PB08CB/6972 coming Jallandhar (Punjab) towards Kathua.
The contraband along with the truck and other trade goods was seized as per Section 6 of J&K Non Biodegradable Management, Handling and Disposal Act 2007, Rule 10 of J&K Non Biodegradable Management, Handling and Disposal Rules, 2007 read with SRO 45 dated 03.02.2017. The operation was carried under the close supervision of Rahul Singh, Divisional Forest Officer, Kathua.
