One sentenced to 2 years jail for sale of illicit liquor

KATHUA, May 30: Trial Court (Sub Judge, Special Mobile Magistrate, Kathua) today convicted Mohidner Paul S/o Ram Chand of Semwan tehsil and district Kathua to Simple imprisonment for a term of two years and slapped a fine of Rs. 3000/ for selling illicit liquor. The Court also ordered that in case accused failed to make deposit of Judicial Fine then he will serve additional simple imprisonment for six months.
It may be recalled that On August 24. 2012, Mohinder Paul was arrested with five liters of illicit liquor while selling liquor illegally near brick kiln, Sumwan. A Case FIR No. 325/2012 U/S 48(a) Excise Act was registered at P/S Kathua through Police Post Nagri against him. After the completion of investigation, challan of the case was produced in the court of law on September 14, 2012 by the police for judicial determination.
