‘One Stop Centre for Women’ starts functioning in Samba

Samba, Oct 5: The ‘One Stop Centre for Women’ has started functioning in district Samba to provide help, assistance and support to women affected by violence in private, public spaces, within the family, community and at the workplace.
To assess the facilities provided at the centre, Deputy Commissioner, Rohit Khajuria visited the place along with a team of officers.
Inspecting the shelter house for women in need, he directed for putting in additional bed space and providing a locker facility as well. He directed the concerned officer for providing all necessary items to make the house kitchen functional.
The Deputy Commissioner directed the administrator Dr. Indra Bhatyal (Medical Superintendent) of One Stop Centre for taking services of a warden (female) and deploy security personnel to make the institution safe and secure. The DC laid emphasis on early completion of outdoor complex including Chawkidar/security room and landscaping for beautification of the surroundings.
He appreciated the work put in place for the functioning of the One Stop Centre and stressed on creating maximum awareness in town, rural and other far-off places regarding the facility available for women so that its maximum benefits like medical assistance, police assistance, legal assistance, counselling and rehabilitation reaches to the targeted persons.
Later, the Deputy Commissioner also visited the market area of Chichi Mata temple and assessed the facilities provided to the visitors. He appreciated the work done by Executive Officer of Municipal Committee Samba, for maintaining cleanness and Hygiene around the temple premises. He laid emphasis upon providing hassle free services to the visitors and directed to check the market regularly.
