JAMMU, May 27: One week -long Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on Research Methodology started at Government Maulana Azad Memorial College (MAM) Jammu, today.
The programme was organised under the chief patronage of Vice Chancellor, Cluster University Jammu, Prof Bechan Lal and patronage of Prof B B Anand Principal of the College.
The dignitaries who graced the occasion included Prof R D Sharma, former VC University of Jammu, Prof Naveen Anand, Dean Academic Affairs, CLUJ, Prof Monika Sharma, Dean Faculty of Arts and Head of Institution and other senior faculty members of the College. Prof B B Anand in his presidential address conveyed his pleasure on organising the programme in the college premises for the professional growth and academic upliftment of the faculty members. Further, he highlighted the significance of fostering the research acumen of teachers by conducting such programmes.
Prof R D Sharma former VC Jammu University who was the keynote speaker, deliberated upon the various aspects of research methodology while emphasising the need of quality research in order to attain excellence in higher education. He appreciated the participants of various sponsored projects by reputed agencies like GC, ICSSR, DSJ etc.
The session ended with the presentation of a token of appreciation to the keynote speaker by Prof B B Anand, Principal of the College. Also the organising secretary of the programme, Dr Bharti Slathia presented, memento to Prof B B Anand.
The first session was moderated by Dr Indu Sharma, Department of English, CLUJ. The second technical session of the FDP titled “Review of Literature” was delivered by Prof Dr Tanima Dutta, Department of Economics, LPU Jalandhar. She delineated in depth information regarding the literature review and its utility for the researchers and provided a detailed account of qualitative and bibliometric analysis.
The vote of thanks was delivered by Prof Shivali Gupta.
