JAMMU, May 1: Principal Sessions Judge Udhampur A K Koul today awarded one year imprisonment to Ganesh alias Mani, son of Ram Ditta of Bathiyadi, Udhampur in an attempt to rape case reported on June 21, 2009.
After hearing Advocate Gulshan Singh Shan appearing for the accused whereas Public Prosecutor Navneet Gupta for the State, Principal Sessions Judge observed, “entering the culminating face of the case, we are left with no option but to hold that accused attempted to rape the prosecutrix and to achieve his nefarious goal he did everything at his command”.
Accordingly, the court sentenced him to simple imprisonment for one year and a fine of Rs 5000.
