JAMMU, June 6: Presiding Officer Fast Track Court Kishore Kumar today awarded rigorous imprisonment for one year and a fine of Rs 25,000 to one Anil Singh, who was facing trial in attempt to rape with six years old girl.
After hearing both the sides, Presiding Officer observed, “the court is of the considered opinion that the ends of justice can be met by sentencing convict to undergo rigorous imprisonment for one year and asking him to pay fine of Rs 25,000 under Section 354 RPC”.
“In default, the convict shall undergo simple imprisonment for three months. It is also made clear that in case fine amount is realized from the convict, then an amount of Rs 20,000 shall be paid to the prosecutrix as compensation who had suffered due to the act of the convict”, the court directed.
