UDHAMPUR, Oct 8: The modalities for the effective implementation of online career guidance for students in Udhampur were discussed here today at a meeting chaired by Deputy Commissioner, Dr Piyush Singla.
The career guidance scheme has been launched in two districts of Udhampur and Ganderbal of J&K on pilot basis for the welfare of students by providing them guidance and preparing them for better opportunities.
This program would start from October 19 in the targeted districts under which students will be registered for the career guidance with the help of Education Department. Over 21000 students will get exposure to this programme in Udhampur district.
The Deputy Commissioner, who is also Chairman of District level committee discussed the contours of the program with the Director Transformation foundation and officers of Education Department.
Detailed discussions were held for the effective implementation of this scheme in the district.
The Director Transformation Foundation briefed about the scheme. She said that the purpose of this scheme is to guide the students of 9th to 12th class for their career counseling about different career opportunities available in the market. She said that for effective implementation of this scheme students champion and counselors are identified and trained to guide the students.
For effective implementation and better results, the DC directed the Education Department to work with zeal and identify the infrastructural gap and explore the possibilities to reach out to the last student in the district.
The DC said that he would monitor this programme regularly to ensure desirable results on the ground. He also said that it is a unique program for better career and future of the students as per their area of interest.
