DODA, Oct 11: Combating cybercrime, the Cyber Crime Investigation Unit (CCIU) of Police here today has recovered online cheated Rs 148654.
Giving details in this regard, Police sources informed that CCIU received complaints from Nasreena Begum, wife of Amir Hussain, resident of Doda and Feroz Ahmed Dar, son of Gh Mohd Dar, resident of Malpura, Budgam at present Doda regarding online cheating in which they lost their money.
During investigation the CCIU team used technical skills and ultimately recovered the defrauded amount of Rs 148654.
SSP Doda, Mohd Aslam has appealed to the general public to remain extra vigilant and report online frauds promptly at National Helpline number 1930 or lodge cyber complaints online at www.cybercrime.gov.in and in case of lost/stolen mobiles, report at www.ceir.gov.in.
