JAMMU, Feb 9: Only Congress party can bring the State out of the turmoil created by the previous BJP-PDP Government and give a stable Government in Jammu and Kashmir.
This was stated by Dr Manohar Lal Sharma, former Minister and President DCC Kathua while addressing monthly public meeting of block Kandi at Dinga Amb, here today.
While lambasting the previous Government, he said it was an unholy alliance between BJP-PDP which only created the situation of confusion and chaos in the State.
He urged upon the people of the State to vote for Congress in upcoming elections for equal development of all the 3 regions of the State.
On the occasion, Sarpanchs Kulbhushan Singh and Surinder Abrol also expressed their views.
Meanwhile, a delegation of Khair farmers met Dr Sharma and apprised him about pending payment against their crops since past around 2 years.
Dr Sharma warned the administration to take issue of payment to Khair farmers on priority basis failing which a mass agitation in the area will be launched.
Prominent persons present in the meeting were Capt Thoru Ram, Karam Chand Khajuria, Chamel Singh, Surinder Singh, Mohinder Sharma, Ashok Kumar, Ghulam Nabi, Mohammad Hussain, Indu Kumara, Swarn Singh, etc.
Later, Dr Sharma also conducted two days extensive tour of Billawar constituency and took stock of the public grievances. While interacting with public at villages Mela, Uchapind, Barota, Daramni and Kached, the people highlighted demands including non-availability of sugar at ration depots, pending MGNREGA payments, scarcity of water, deplorable condition of road, etc.
Dr Sharma gave patient hearing to their demands and requested the Governor to redress the issues on priority basis.
