Jammu, Sept 24: Patron of People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Mufti Mohammad Sayeed today said it was result of the good governance of the previous PDP-led coalition that there is realization among all sections of the society only PDP has the vision and commitment to address their aspirations.
“Within short span of its formation, the PDP has earned faith and credibility of the people of Jammu and Kashmir”, Mufti said while addressing a function to welcome large number of people from Ramgarh and Vijaypur areas who joined PDP under the leadership of Yashpal Sharma.
Mr Sayeed reminded the gathering that during its tenure the PDP-led regime had proved its capability of changing life of the common masses by treating all individual equally and providing equal opportunities to all sections of the society.  “During our tenure we generated governance consciousness among the people and residents of Jammu and Kashmir had a taste of good governance and pro-people administration”, he said.
“Having tasted the good governance during our tenure, the people had hope that the present regime headed by National Conference would also follow the path of its predecessor but this regime has failed to provide even basic amenities to the common masses”, he observed and regretted that the process of equalitable development, which was started during PDP-Congress regime was derailed after formation of the present regime.
He mentioned that  PDP led regime had brought transparency and accountability in the governance by strengthening democratic institutions in the State and informed the gathering that more than 70,000 youth were appointed as teachers under Rebar-e-Talim (ReT) scheme and more than 30,000 Anganwari workers were also appointed during his tenure. “Not only a single case of favouritism or nepotism was reported during our tenure because appointments were made with complete transparency and accountability to ensure that only deserving people would get jobs”, he said.
Reiterating his resolve to remove regional disparities, former Chief Minister said his Government had set an example of equitable and balanced development in Jammu and Kashmir. “Credit goes to the PDP-Congress regime that first time after 1947, all regions were treated equally in developmental and other activities”, he maintained and added that it was after 2002 successfully efforts were made to empower all regions to remove the sense of inequality and discrimination.
