Op Clean-Up: Police conduct raids in Jammu District

JAMMU, Mar 16: In a concerted effort to combat the menace of drug trafficking, Police conducted a series of raids targeting drug hotspots across the Jammu District under “Operation Clean-up” today.
Led by a team comprising officials from Jammu Police and ITBP, raids were conducted in areas notorious for drug-related activities, including Rajeev Nagar under Police Station Bahu-fort, and Dhadap area under Police Station Satwari.
As per a statement, SP South and SDPO City East and South were leading the operation, with support from various SHOs and other police officers.
During the raids, it said, police seized a significant amount of cash amounting to ninety-five thousand and nine hundred fifty rupees from the residence of a suspected drug peddler.
Additionally, a total of twenty individuals from Rajeev Nagar and eighteen from Dhadap area were detained for further questioning due to their suspicious behaviour.
In a parallel operation supervised by SP City North, surprise searches were conducted in Dogra Hall, Kabir Basti, Chand Nagar, Behind Fish Market, and other areas under different police jurisdictions.
These operations, executed with precision by dedicated teams, resulted in the apprehension of numerous suspects.
Notably, the raids in Reshamgarh Colony, Akhnoor, and Maralian general area, among others, underscored the comprehensive approach adopted by Jammu Police to root out drug-related activities.
The public was, as such, encouraged to collaborate with Jammu Police, with assurance of confidentiality regarding their identities.
