Open permanent Civil Sectt at Jammu: Mankotia

UDHAMPUR, Apr 27: Reiterating the demand to stop the tradition of Darbar Move in the state after every six months, former MLA and NPP president Balwant Singh Mankotia said that heavy amount of Rs 600 crore is being spend every year on Darbar Move.
In a handout issued today,  Mankotia said that this tradition was started by Maharaja Ranbir Singh in 1872 in which Secretariat was used to be shifted after every 6 months from both summer and winter capital’s of the state because that time there is lack of transport as well as communication sources but there is no need to waste such huge amount in today’s technology era,  he added
Mankotia termed this as “heavy plunder” of the tax payers’ money and demanded that such amount should be use for the tax payer people of the state in terms of development of the state, salary to agitating Govt employees.
The NPP leader also send memorandum to Governor of the State Satya Pal Malik and appealed to open permanent Secretariat in Jammu where as on camp basis in Kashmir due to the millitancy and tense situation in Valley.
He demanded to stop this tradition as soon as possible as it is a serious issue and the wastage of such huge amount which is also a big financial burden on the State exchequer, Mankotia added.
