JAMMU, June 2: Two individuals were arrested with 18 grams of liquid opium and 720 grams of poppy straw here at Jhajjar Kotli Area today, police said.
They said a police team by Inspector Azad Manhas, SHO Jhajjar Kotli, under the supervision of SDPO Nagrota, Akash Kohli, intercepted a vehicle (JK02DD-6349) during naka checking.
During search of the vehicle, police said, 18 grams of liquid opium and 720 grams of poppy straw was recovered.
Two persons travelling in the vehicle, identified as Akhil Kumar and Mushtaq Ahmed, both residents of Dheerthi Tehsil Katra, District Reasi, were taken into custody.
“The accused have been booked in case FIR number 117/2023 under sections 8/15/18/29 of the NDPS Act registered at Police Station Jhajjar Kotli and further investigation taken up,” police said.
