NEW DELHI, July 23: Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER), MoS PMO, Personnel, Public Grievances & Pensions, Atomic Energy and Space, Dr Jitendra Singh said here today that the opposition parties have a number of PM aspirants but not a single PM candidate.
Responding to media persons’ queries about the events unfolding in the aftermath of the No-Confidence Motion against the Modi Government on 20th of this month, Dr Jitendra Singh said, Narendra Modi is not only a popularly elected leader of the BJP, but also, so far the most popular Prime Minister of India across all sections and regions of the country, as well as one of the most popular world leaders today. This, he said, is quite in contrast to the opposition parties which are vying to outdo each other to project their respective Prime Ministerial aspirants, as a result of which, any bid to forge a third-front, fourth-front or any other front can never be successful because there will never be a consensus as to who is to lead the Front as prospective Prime Minister.
Referring to the No – Confidence motion against the Modi Government, Dr Jitendra Singh said, it was less of No -Confidence against the Modi Government and more of No-Confidence against each of the different political parties comprising the disgruntled opposition. He said, the propriety of the democratic mandate demands that Congress and the other political parties should gracefully accept the leadership of Narendra Modi, who is not only the Prime Minister of BJP, but, indeed, Prime Minister of whole of India including Congress and other political parties.
Reiterating that Vikas (Development) is the sole agenda on which the Modi Government has worked, day and night, for the last four years, Dr Jitendra Singh said, the results of this approach are now visible not only in the form of socio-economic transformation, but also being accepted by the rest of the world.
Contradicting the unsubstantiated charges made by the Congress Party, Dr Jitendra Singh said, the figures speak for themselves and cannot be negated through mere political rhetoric. In the matter of livelihood and employment generation itself, for example, Dr Jitendra Singh said, over one crore jobs or livelihood sources were made available for the youth of this country during the last one year.
