JAMMU: Speaker Legislative Assembly, Kavinder Gupta, today said that every child possesses unique potential and there is a need to nurture that talent so that they can lead the country on the path of development and progress.
He was speaking after distributing school bags to the children belonging to weaker section of the society during a function organized by Sunrise Public School being run by Sunrise Trust at Channi Himmat here.
He also sanctioned a water purifier to the school so that the students and faculty of the institution are facilitated.
The Speaker appreciated the efforts of the Trust for providing free and quality education to the children. He said that such organizations can help vulnerable children to unlock their potential and realize their dreams.
Gupta asked the teachers to focus on nurturing moral values among students and concentrate on the optimal development of children so that they achieve success in this era of competition. He further asked the Trust to organize debates, contests, painting competitions, symposiums and sports activities on regular basis for the overall personality development of students.
The Speaker also highlighted various schemes like Ladli Beti, Beti Bachao Beti Padhao, State Marriage Assistance and other financial assistance schemes launched by the State and the Central Government for the welfare of the weaker sections of the society. He called upon the people to come forward and avail maximum benefit of these schemes.
Staff members and students of the School, representatives of the Trust, besides a large number of locals and other concerned were present on the occasion.
