JAMMU, May 18: Maxillofacial Surgery, a surgical branch of Dentistry has been started at Government Hospital Sarwal with the support of Dr Gurmeet Kaur, Medical Superintendent of the hospital under the guidance of Dr BS Pathania, Director, Health Services.
This rare surgery was performed in the hospital on a 17-year-old boy namely Shabir Ahmed, son of Mohd Ramzan, a resident of Gulab Garh, who was suffering from a huge tumour of lower Jaw bone.
The operation was successfully performed by Dr Gaurav Gupta, Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon, Consultant in the hospital and the team of Senior Anesthesist, Dr Liaqat Ali and Dr Shelly Mahajan along with theatre staff including Rajesh Sharma (senior Pharmacist), Raman Sharma (Senior Dental Technician.
The patient is recovering well under the treatment and care of Dr Gaurav Gupta.
