Orbis Financial Corp appoints Rajesh M Sharma as CEO

MUMBAI, Oct 21:  Securities services player Orbis Financial Corporation today announced the appointment of industry veteran Rajesh M Sharma as its chief executive.
With over 23 years of experience across capital markets and securities services, Sharma has previously served as the executive director at Standard Chartered Bank for transaction banking, a statement by Orbis said.
Besides, the company has appointed Manoj Agrawal as Chief Operating Officer. Agrawal was previously the COO with Deutsche Bank and has nearly 20 years of capital market experience.
Orbis has also recently revamped its Board with the induction of former Religare CEO Shachindra Nath and former managing director Clearstream Banking (Deutsche Börse Group) Michael Jaeggi, as independent directors.
With these changes, Orbis founder Atul Gupta will be taking up the role of executive chairman guiding the company into its next phase of growth, the statement said.
“We are excited to welcome Rajesh and Manoj to the leadership team. Their rich and diverse experience adds immensely to our business and governance framework, further strengthening Orbis as an institution,” Gupta said.
Orbis is engaged in providing custody, fund accounting, derivatives clearing and escrow services to the foreign and domestic institutional investors including portfolio managers, and alternative investment funds. (PTI)
