Refer news item ‘Prez issues ordinance on crime against women’, DE Feb 4.
With the President of India according approval to the ordinance on crime against women. Now one would expect quick disposal of court cases and quick justices to the victims.
The ordinance will go a long way in addressing the women folk and instil in them a sense of security which they feel is missing in the country. It will also save them time and money besides embarrassing moments while interacting with police, and lawyers during investigation and court proceedings.
The lawmakers did their job, it is upto the law implementing agencies now to do the rest of work.
The ordinance is outcome of relentless pressure which women and other organisations mounted on the Government.
