JAMMU, Nov 5: J&K State Organ & Tissue Transplant Organization (SOTTO) organized an awareness programme for faculty, students and paramedical staff of GMC Anantnag in association with the Department of General Surgery of the GMC. Principal GMC Anantnag, Prof. Dr. Anjum Farhana presided over the event.
Head, Department of Surgery Prof. Dr. Mumtaz-ud-Din welcomed the SOTTO team.
Head of Urology GMC Jammu cum Nodal Officer SOTTO J&K, Dr. Elias Sharma delivered a lecture on Human Organ Donation and Transplantation and he clarified various myths associated with this.
Joint Director, SOTTO J&K, Dr. Sanjeev Puri gave a brief presentation about National Organ Transplant Programme (NOTP) under Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. He also encouraged the audience to participate in Organ Donation Pledge Drive under Ayushman Bhav.
Irfan Ahmed, Transplant Coordinator, SOTTO explained the sequence of events in cadaveric organ donation.
The event was coordinated by Associate Professor in General Surgery GMC Anantnag, Dr. Khalid Bashir.
